FAQ
How many pictures will we receive?
Each package is slightly different, but is listed in each session above. Most galleries will contain more than listed, and upgrades can be made to purchase additional images.
How should we dress for our family session?
I get asked this a lot! My answer - whatever you feel comfortable in. If you feel like wearing jeans and a top just do it. If you want to wear a flowy dress we can do that too. There are no rules, HOWEVER, neutrals do photograph amazingly well. It keeps your portraits really clean and timeless. Colours I suggest to avoid is red and bright pink.
All sessions have access to my client wardrobe.
What’s the best time of the day to book a session?
I love late afternoon for outdoor sessions. During Summer sunrises can also be incredible too. For studio sessions, I find mid morning to work well with my natural lit space. Generally I run my studio sessions on weekdays, unless a weekend is requested due to work etc.
What happens if the weather is bad?
I find for outdoor sessions that sunshine does give you the best photos. Slightly cloudy or overcast also isn't an issue. Heavy cloud and darkness can be a bit of a problem though. If there is predicted rain I would recommend postponing but this is always discussed on the day.
How long does it take to receive my photos?
My turn around is approx 2 weeks for my sessions, and 6-8 weeks for wedding galleries. During peak busy times, the 2 weeks may be extended but I will keep in contact with you.
What is the best age for newborn sessions?
I do find around 7-12 days the best for newborn sessions, particularly if you are really wanting those sleepy curly images. I generally mark off your due date after you have secured a spot with me, and then once bubs makes their appearance we can then schedule in the session around this age to make sure it suits.
How long do sessions go for?
Outdoor sessions can last up to 60 minutes, but generally most run for around 45 mins. Studio newborn sessions I allow up to 2 hours to settle bubs if needed.
Can I add on family photos to a cake smash?
Yes, you can add on family portraits to a cake smash session. Add on fee is $200, and this covers extra images into your online gallery. My cake smash sessions are for studio only. Cake smash sessions are simple setups, and don't include any books or movie characters.
How do we book a session?
Once we have organised a suitable date (except for newborn studio sessions as they are booked after baby arrives) I will send through a booking form and bank details so that you can pay a booking fee. This will secure the session with me. The booking fee is transferable if session is postponed.
